'Food from the sun' is the enticing prospect at this cheerful and slightly eccentric café filled with a real hotch-potch of jumble shop furniture and everything 'from oil paintings by our very own Thuline to our next-door neighbour's handmade cushions'.
The kitchen puts its faith in local and organic produce, changes its menus every week and goes global for a repertoire that extends from 'soul soup' to Moroccan lamb tagine via buttered shrimp risotto, Hyderabad chicken and local Belted Galloway steaks with chips and Masala sauce.
A few lighter options such as Thai chicken wraps appear at lunchtime, and you need to look at the mirror to discover the day's desserts (perhaps ginger pudding or hot chocolate brownie).
