The history books tell us that there really were Jews in the once-mighty central Chinese city of Kaifeng, way back in the ninth century when the legendary Silk Road from the Middle East was in full swing. The tradition lives on in this fascinating North London restaurant, which is suitably decorated with vivid eighteenth-century drawings of life in the old city.
Over the years, Kaifeng restaurant has become legendary among London's Anglo-Jewry and receives sky-high ratings from the critics in every department.
