The Keepers Arms nestles on a hillside above the river Rother at Trotton Bridge, this archetypal Sussex pub looks a picture with its ancient tiled exterior, lovely views and trees all around. Dating from 1640, it was originally the village local (with a smithy below), but it now plies its trade as an upmarket pub/restaurant with the emphasis on imaginative food.
The bar stays true to its pub roots with real ales on tap and a blackboard menu of basic grub, but the real gastronomic action takes place in the separate restaurant.
