The Kings Arms Review

This welcoming Georgian coaching inn was built in 1762 and converted into a hostelry some one hundred years later. It still oozes character, with a large mounting block outside the door and stone-slab floors leading into the beamed and panelled Herriot's Bar (it starred as The Drovers in the TV series 'All Creatures Great & Small').

Food is served in the bars and in the more formal restaurant, and the extensive menu embraces everything from lunchtime sandwiches, haddock and chips, grilled gammon and other examples of dyed-in-the-wool pub grub to more intricate modern dishes.
