Kingslodge Hotel, Knights Restaurant Review

Handily located near the centre of Durham, a few minutes walk from the railway station, Kingslodge Hotel prides itself on providing high quality service in comfortably luxurious surroundings.

Knights Restaurant is decorated in Art Deco style, with ornamental glassware and Monet prints adding a touch of class to proceedings. The menu promises modern cooking along the lines of tian of lobster and mango with fennel and vanilla dressing, loin of lamb wrapped in chorizo with pommes Anna and light tomato beurre blanc, followed by desserts such as iced pear parfait with Calvados syrup and a glazed fruit kebab.

The separate Champagne and Oyster Bar is perfect for a glass of fizz, a plate of oysters on ice, dressed crab or – if you really want to splash out – a pot of Beluga caviar.
