L'Accento Review

In the hinterland between Bayswater and Notting Hill, L'Accento continues to prove its worth as a reliable neighbourhood Italian, feeding the local crowd in a rather utilitarian setting of bare wood tables, while walls and soft lights.

Simple, no-nonsense cooking with a few regional overtones is the kitchen's stock-in-trade, so expect the likes of aubergines with tomato and basil sauce, pasta doused with butter and sage, veal on a bed of spinach with lemon sauce and so on.

Best of all is the wine list, a real treasure trove of Italian gems from pedigree growers with big reputations plus some real revelations from little known sources.
