Followers of the Ludlow gastronomic scene will know that Claude Bosi's Michelin-starred restaurant Hibiscus is no more and in its place is La Bécasse ('the woodcock'), owned by fellow Michelin chef Alan Murchison (from another ornithologically titled restaurant, L'Ortolan in Shinfield). The name may have changed but the overall mood of this converted coaching inn is much the same, although the wood-panelled dining room has been elegantly refurbished.
L'Ortolan's head chef, Will Holland, has been brought in to head the kitchen and he brings with him many trademark ideas, techniques and signature dishes.
