La Cantina 44 Review

'A welcoming smile from friendly staff,' is just one of the reasons why customers flock to this family-run Italian restaurant just off the Cross Gates roundabout in the eastern quarter of Leeds. Regulars love the congenial atmosphere and the affordable food, as well as the delightful terrace out front (a prime spot on balmy summer evenings).

The kitchen deals in old-school trattoria food, taking in familiar pastas, risottos and pizzas framed by assorted antipasti (anything from calamari fritti to breadcrumbed Mozzarella in tomato and basil sauce) to house specialities such as grilled swordfish, braised lamb shank in red wine and rosemary sauce or grilled chicken breast with spinach and pesto.
