La Lanterna Review

A long-standing favourite for old-school trattoria food in Bermondsey, La Lanterna is tucked away in a side street just over Tower Bridge. Its stunning Italianate courtyard is a must-visit destination in fine weather; otherwise enjoy the congenial atmosphere in the two dining rooms, which are cutely decorated with classical statuettes.

The long menu offers a huge choice of pizzas and pasta dishes (from spaghetti puttanesca and agnolotti filled with asparagus to linguine with scallops in brandy cream sauce), plus familiar antipasti and a choice of mains including saltimbocca alla romana and a grand seafood mixed grill.
