Originally a group of weavers' cottages, the Lamb Inn is a classic of its kind, with wisteria-clad walls, pretty gardens and an interior that is etched with history. Full meals are served in the elegant dining room overlooking the courtyard terrace, and the kitchen provides a slate of inventive modern dishes based around native ingredients.
To start you could try grilled mackerel with saffron-pickled vegetables or a terrine of wild rabbit with jokey haricot beans 'on toast'.
