Fans of Test Match Special will no doubt recognise Larwood and Voce as the Nottinghamshire fast bowlers who skittled out the Aussies in the 1932-33 Ashes series. This revitalised pub - just a slog from Trent Bridge's hallowed ground - pays homage to their efforts, although its main business is satisfying hungry appetites and thirsts with a splendid array of food and drink in 'shabby chic' surroundings.
Set up by some big players from the East Midlands' pub and restaurant scene, Larwood & Voce is as flexible as they come, offering breakfast and brunch at weekends, an all-day bar menu (served until 6.00pm), family-friendly Sunday lunches and more ambitious restaurant-style evening meals.
