The Manchester outpost of this seafood group occupies a vaulted Victorian building just off Albert Square. Linen-clad tables, green-and-white colour schemes and Art Deco styling set the mood, and a friendly atmosphere prevails.
Old favourites such as fish and chips are given a new twist, displays of crustacea are sure to appeal, and the menu goes in for some exotic global ideas including roast monkfish with shellfish risotto and deep-fried ginger, char-grilled yellow fin tuna with stir-fried vegetable noodles, and sea bass fillet with grilled baby leeks, mussel and coriander butter.
Shellfish platters are a big attraction: the Livebait special version (for two or more) is loaded with whole Whitby crab, Canadian lobster, Madagascan crevettes, Amande clams, rock oysters and more.
