Believed to have been built on the site of the original Welsh Assembly (the legendary White Palace), Llangoed Hall has had a chequered history. Fast-forward a few hundred years and you discover its present incarnation - thanks to Clough Williams-Ellis (of Portmeirion fame). Since 1990 it has been under the stewardship of Sir Bernard Ashley and the interior immediately speaks of his late wife's impeccable design taste.
