It may not be quite as famous as the Bodleian Library, but the Randolph remains a landmark destination for visitors to Oxford. Built in 1864 and recently given a multi-million pound refurbishment, the grandiose neo-Gothic edifice stands opposite the celebrated Ashmolean Museum and is close to the city's heartbeat.
