Mae Ping in Beckenham, named after the river which runs through Chiang Mai, is a well respected neighbourhood Thai restaurant liked for its friendly atmosphere, engaging hospitality and sumptuous décor.
Visitors also heap praise on the food, which has a genuinely authentic ring to it. Among the starters look for kung takrai (deep-fried minced prawns impaled on a stick of lemongrass with sweet chilli sauce) and kratong tong (batter cups filled with minced chicken, sweetcorn and vegetables.
