Mao Tai named after the celebratory Szechuan liquor, is justly proud of the fact that it's an MSG-free zone. Since opening, it has grown into one of the most inventive Chinese restaurants in south west London and it puts on a buzzy modern show with its wood-floored interior and fascinating regional menu.
Dim sum are now served until 8 in the evening, and the kitchen sends out all manner of interesting morsels, including steamed prawn and coriander dumplings, char siu buns, chicken's feet in black bean sauce and glutinous rice in lotus leaves with 'wind-blown' pork.
