Occupying the shell of a Victorian pub hard by the railway tracks and Southwark arches, Mar i Terra has been serving up cracking tapas since opening in 2000. The original mirror-backed bar is still intact and the whole place has been decked out with swathes of sanded-down dark wood.
As the name suggests, 'sea and land' get equal billing on the lengthy menu, which is peppered with authentic Spanish ingredients: the 'charcuteria' is imported from a family-owned producer on the Castilla/Estremadura border, for example.
