Easily found alongside the A361 between Chipping Norton and Banbury, the chic, stone-built Mason's Arms was indeed a Masonic lodge before becoming a hostelry. These days it is in the capable hands of Juke Kelly who mans the stoves and Vicky Robertson.
Locally sourced ingredients provide most of the building blocks for the fixed-price lunch menu and the a la carte dinner menu, which are topped up with an assortment of daily specials.
Earthy old-fashioned cuts including shin of beef, pork belly, ox tongue and pig's cheeks show up regularly alongside more eclectic ideas such as timbale of crab with avocado parfait, char-grilled rump of lamb with artichoke purée, cannellini beans and Feta.
