The Solihull branch of Metro is run along similar lines to its elder brother in the heartland of central Birmingham. It's a cool, contemporary space with a pulsating bar sitting check-by-jowl with the main restaurant – so expect high decibel levels.
Menus generally adhere to the classic brasserie format, with the grill and rôtisserie holding centre stage for dry-aged Scotch steaks, corn-fed duck breast and the like, alongside mains like roast saddle of rabbit with braised Puy lentils or rump of lamb with broad bean purée and gremolata potatoes.
