The Metropolitan Review

Originally a grand hotel for the old Midland Railway, this imposing, 'titan' Victorian edifice still flaunts its stunning roof timbering, ornate windows and intricate plasterwork. Following a spell in the doldrums and disrepair, it was renovated and re-launched in 1997 as a gastropub serving the suburban fringes of Didsbury to the south of the city.

Its capacious, lofty interior now buzzes with life, and the cosmopolitan hordes spill out onto the terrace(complete with its own bar) and open spaces beyond when the sun shines.
