Mumtaj Tandoori Restaurant Review

One of the longest serving and most consistent Indian restaurants in a town with more than its fair share of creditable curry houses, the Mumtaj is a short walk from St Albans' main drag opposite the Old Cinema Hall.

Chef Chad Rahman has picked up a clutch of awards over the years (including National Curry Chef) and he is capable of creating some intriguing dishes with fusion overtones: malai murgh khazana is chicken breast stuffed with king prawns and sun-dried tomatoes, spinach and pine nuts in saffron sauce.
