Since opening in 1981, the Nawaab name has become iconic in Yorkshire and the flagship Bradford original is still going strong. The impressive stone frontage still makes its point on Manor Row but the interior has been given a classy new facelift of late, with curved arches, ornate ceilings and highly polished floors.

The vast menu runs to some 200 dishes, covering a host of 'popular curries' (bhunas, dhansaks, jalfrezis), assorted tandooris, baltis and a big selection of chef's specialities - including chicken haandi cooked and served in a special wide-bellied pot, slow-cooked lamb nihari and a decent selection of vegetables.
