The Huddersfield branch of the locally renowned Nawaab group occupies a converted bank handily situated midway between the bus and railway stations. The impressive Georgian façade remains, and the interior has a classic look with drapes at the windows, pillars dividing up the dining room, and rows of tables and chairs.
The vast menu runs to some 200 dishes, covering a host of 'popular curries' (bhunas, dhansaks, jalfrezis), assorted tandooris, baltis and a big selection of chef's specialities - including chicken haandi cooked and served in a special wide-bellied pot, slow-cooked lamb nihari and a decent selection of vegetables.
