North Road Review

North Road restaurant located on the site previously occupied by the Clerkenwell Dining Room on St John Street is the second venture by chef patron Christoffer Hruskova, who also owns the popular Fig Bistro in Barnsbury. Taking its name from the Great North Road linking Edinburgh to London it was opened in November 2010 by this Danish chef, and already the critics have likened the food here to Noma in Copenhagen, recently the recipient of the number one restaurant in the world in the prestigious San Pellegrino's World's 50 Best Restaurants list 2011.

Designed by El Nino, the décor is sleek and minimalist in classic Scandinavian style with oak parquet floors, bronze fittings, Serge Mouille hanging lights and custom made smoked oak Danish dining chairs, with a seated bar, windows to the kitchen and a chef's table.
