Northbank with a splendid location at the foot of the Millennium Bridge, looking across the Thames from the City to Tate Modern and The Globe, is one of the assets of this newcomer (on the site of the defunct Just The Bridge). New owner Christian Butler (ex-the Baltic) has revitalised the interior, with leather upholstered booths on raised platforms making the most of great riverside views; there's also a tempting terrace for those wanting to venture outside.
The menu draws heavily on ingredients from the West Country (Butler's home patch) and chef Peter Woods has his own boat down in Newhaven which is put to good use.
