Set amid lawns and oak trees high above the village of Porlock (where Exmoor National Park meets the sea), this gabled Edwardian house has been faithfully restored and nurtured by long-serving owners Tim and Anne Riley. It has been a labour of love, and the Oaks is now noted for its sedate, quietly old-fashioned atmosphere and traditional courtesies.
Original oil paintings and antiques are dotted all around, and the traditional dining room has tables arranged around the panoramic windows - so that everyone gets a spectacular view.
