Old Armoury Restaurant Review

Once a bolthole for the Black Watch Regiment, the Old Armoury is situated in idyllic woodlands by Loch Faskally and now doubles as a restaurant and tearoom with lovely gardens for al fresco meals and a cosy interior for candlelit meals.

Angus McNab and his team take full advantage of Perthshire's local larder for a patriotically Scottish menu with European influences – as in seared saddle of venison with bashed neeps, wilted baby spinach, fondant potato and a light port and juniper sauce or fillet of organic salmon on steamed greens with creamy mash, baby capers, lemon and chive beurre blanc.
