Don't worry, there's nothing boring about this revitalised 200-year-old stone pub below Rishworth Moor. Chef/proprietor Scott Hessel has breezed in like the proverbial 'new broom' and quickly made the place a Yorkshire talking point – and award winner, to boot. Inside, the place is a mix of traditional flagstone floors, beams, paintings and curios, with echoes of a hunting lodge in one of the dining rooms.
Hessel was a Roux brothers' 'scholar' before tripping his way through Michelin-starred kitchens in London and France, so his food is a long way from the Yorkshire pub norm.
