The Old Deanery Review

Built in 1625 on the site of the former monastery of St Wilfred, the Grade II-listed Old Deanery is now reaping the rewards of a thorough contemporary makeover. It stands adjacent to the cathedral and does a great service to locals and tourists alike.

Inside it shows off its modern credentials with high-backed leather chairs, blonde wood tables and polished floorboards, although there are still reminders of the past and many original features have been left untouched.
