Perfect if you are looking for fine food and a sleepover after a visit to the nearby Museum of Welsh Life, this revitalised one-time post office make look folksy and cottagey from the outside, but the interior tells a different story. New chef/proprietor Simon Kealy has retained the contemporary minimalist style created by his predecessors, and it makes a relaxed setting for cooking that is shot through with forthright flavours.
Scrambled goose egg with shaved truffle sounds like an intriguing starter, or you might prefer ham hock terrine with fine caper dressing, apple and mustard sauce.
