The Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley – both designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – are within striking distance of this lovely scenic pub in the middle of Newland village. It's a hostelry that is proud of is history as well as its location: records suggest it was originally used to house workers building the nearby medieval church.
These days, the pub's reputation hinges on its convivial atmosphere, excellent selection of real ales and – most important of all – its food.
