The move from Bishopsgate to Threadneedle Street for Pacific Oriental has done nothing to diminish the potent appeal of this vast Pan-Asian restaurant, which now ranks as one of the top restaurants of its kind in London. Given the address, it's no surprise to find that the building was once a bank, and it pulls out all the stops with lofty ceilings, grand columns and marble floors.
The kitchen fuses ideas from all corners of the Pacific Rim with European influences to telling effect.
