Charles and Linda Gotto made their names in several London pubs before moving to The Parrot Inn at Forest Green in the Surrey Hills and pursuing their passion for home-grown and local food. They have a farm a couple of miles from the Parrot, where they raise livestock and poultry, and much of their produce - plus a range of homemade sausages, pies, breads, preserves and other provisions - is available in the pub's 'farm shop'.
The pub itself is a classic country good-looker, with no fewer than four garden areas, and an interior that is all low-beamed ceilings, flagstone floors and a bar dispensing real ales straight from the barrel.
