For more than a quarter of a century, Paul Hagger's eponymous restaurant Paul's, has been a fixture of the Folkestone dining scene and the stylishly renovated premises is still on form – judging by recent comments sent in to the UK Restaurant Guide. 'Great value for money, super service and a great venue for large groups, too,' commented one visitor; another added 'Excellent all round – I go every week!'
The kitchen delivers modern European food with plenty of elaborate touches, as in pan-fried scallops on a bed of courgette 'noodles' with vanilla jus, gently braised oxtail served on truffle mash with a girolle mushroom jus or roast loin of lamb with couscous, Mediterranean vegetables, tomato and balsamic jus.
