Rated as one of Pembrokeshire's loveliest Gothic-style country houses, Penally Abbey stands next to the Norman church in a pretty, floral village not far from Tenby. There are magnificent sea views over Caldey Island and Carmarthen Bay from grounds that surround the ivy-clad mansion.
Dining in the candlelit restaurant is an overtly romantic affair; the room has lots of eye-catching features including high coved ceilings, hand-carved fireplaces and crystal chandeliers; you can also look out onto the garden from the large ogee-arched windows.
