Philipburn Country House Hotel Review

Built as a family home in 1751, Philpburn didn't become a hotel until the 1960s: since then it has been re-built and refurbished and is now one of the region's best known business and leisure venues.

The restaurant takes its name from the date of the Jacobite battle lead by Bonnie Prince Charlie: heaven knows what he would have made of avocado pear with red onion marmalade and a trio of red pepper coulis or baked halibut with a dill crust on stir-fried mangetout with asparagus cream sauce!
