Polpo is a Venetian bacaro, a.k.a. Venetian-style wine bar, serving Italian small plates and northern Italian wines, situated just off Regent Street in an early 18th century building, once home to the painter Canaletto. It has an urban chic distressed décor with exposed brickwork, an imported bronzed tin ceiling, filament light bulbs, Victorian tiled floors and mismatched furniture.
