Prince Alfred & Formosa Dining Room Review

Built in 1863, the affectionately named 'PA' is a glorious example of ornate pub Victoriana, all impeccably preserved for the twenty-first century. Take at look at the beautifully carved gilt and wood bar, the vast sculpted ceilings, the etched plate-glass windows and the fascinating mahogany 'snob screens' - not to mention the tiny Lilliputian doorways connecting each little snug area of the place.

By contrast, the adjoining Formosa Dining Room is a spacious and modern add-on, marked out by mosaic artwork, an open kitchen and views of the street after which it is named.
