Quince & Medlar Review

Colin and Louisa Le Voi have spent more than 15 years promoting the cause of vegetarian food in the Lake District and even now they are always on hand in this charming and rather elegant little restaurant.

Don't expect much in the way of groovy trappings or veggie clichés here: instead the setting is a genteel Georgian town house close to Cockermouth Castle, done out with rich floral wallpaper, deep-blue window dressings and lacy tablecloths.

Their dishes are always interesting and well away from the heavy stodge that often passes for vegetarian food.
