A relative newcomer to a spot where good restaurants are thin on the ground, Raeburns is located on the ground floor of Ashtree House Hotel, within the Oakshaw conservation area of Paisley and early reports from UK Restaurant Guide users give the place the thumbs up. Husband and Wife team Kerr and Nicola Raeburn share a love for seasonal produce from the 'humble mackerel to the Monarch of the Glen' and take pride in preparing each dish to perfection using both modern and traditional techniques.
Open the lunch slate with Haggis, neeps and tatties with an onion and thyme sauce or perhaps Chefs salad of Strathdon blue cheese, candied walnuts, pears and grapes before moving on to casserole of venison with mushrooms, shallots, pancetta and a bubble and squeak potato cake or even Raeburns fish pie.
