In an endearingly serene Cotswold hamlet not far from Malmesbury, the Rectory Hotel is a picture of English charm surrounded by three acres of formal walled gardens complete with a sunken Victorian pool. There are views of the village church – and everything else besides – from most tables in the beamed and wood-panelled restaurant.
The menu proudly proclaims its 'British' loyalties, adding that 'the majority of the produce with the exception of fish is sourced within 30 miles of the hotel'.
