The Restaurant @ Pilot House Wharf Review

The boats land their catch just a stone's throw from the kitchen door, so there's no doubting the freshness of the basic ingredients at this unusual, easy-going restaurant above a fish tackle shop. To reach the dining room you need to climb the stairs and go through the old Pilot House tower, which was used as a lookout and weather station before the development of radar in the '30s.

Helen Tennant was part of the team when the place was called Hanson's; she's now in sole charge and has given the relaxed dining room a bright airy facelift, with yellow-ochre colours setting the tone.
