'Fun' is an F-word not normally associated with Michelin 3-star restaurants, but Gordon Ramsay's Chelsea flagship (basking in the glow of a £1m David Collins makeover) manages to create a mood of conversational good cheer, especially when the tables fill up at lunchtime.

There's not a whiff of pomposity, although service is as finely orchestrated as it gets, with litres of assured French polish to ensure that proceedings are silky smooth.
