Dating back to 1750, this venerable Dartmoor pub nestles snugly under the famous stony outgrowth known as the Haytor Rocks. It was once a watering hole for local quarrymen and iron miners, although today's customers are more likely to be Devon tourists, holidaymakers and sightseers.
A few minders of the past still remain (look for the old stone trough beside the stables), but the pub puts on a thoroughly modern face when it comes to food.
