Rococo is a Glasgow restaurant on the up. Sit outside and sip cocktails in the gazebo, before progressing to the chic basement dining room with its intimate atmosphere, dark leather upholstered chairs and a veritable gallery of wall-mounted glass abstracts and modern artwork to catch the eye.
The cooking pulls together French influences and touches of rustic Italian: a boudin of chicken with crispy veal sweetbreads, shallot cream and smoked bacon jus or velouté of Jerusalem artichokes served with wild mushroom tortellini and white truffle oil could precede roast fillet of Scotch beef topped with oxtail cassoulet, pommes Anna and thyme bouillon or canon of Perthshire lamb with a tian of aubergine and courgettes, aubergine caviar and minted olive oil jus.
