Simon Hulstone put Torquay firmly on the gastronomic map when he opened the Elephant, and he continues to causes ripples on the English Riviera with his Michelin-starred cooking.
The restaurant is hidden away from the main tourist drag and it benefits from splendid views of the harbour. Inside, it has been given the full motif treatment with pictures of eponymous heavyweight beasts dotted all around.
