The gang of five that now makes up the Royal China group straddles the capital, the Westferry Circus branch in the heart of Canary Wharf has a pleasant outdoor seating area, but otherwise it goes for the signature décor of lacquered wooden walls painted in shiny black, motifs of golden birds in flight and stylised decorative silver waves.

Dim sum are one of the highpoints and the kitchen can produce some of the most imaginative and skilfully wrought morsels in the business.
