Set in a pretty Dorset village famous for the awesomely endowed Cerne Giant carving, this sixteenth-century thatched pub looks as pretty as a picture. It was built from the ruins of a nearby Benedictine abbey and still oozes history – thanks to black panelled walls, perilously low beams, roaring fires and flagstone floors.
