Formerly the Royal Hotel, this enterprising venture sits just yards from the shores of Loch Fyne overlooking the Cowal Peninsula and the Kyles of Bute. The old Victorian stone house has been given an facelift and - thanks to some neat re-invention - it is now puts on the style with real panache.

The McKie family has established a reliable network of trusted local suppliers who can provide everything from diver-caught scallops to wild venison (stalked by a certain Winston Churchill).
