Members of the Liem Phong family spent many months back in their native Vietnam sourcing ingredients and furnishings before launching the admirable Saigon Saigon Vietnamese restaurant on the Hammersmith/Chiswick border.
The interior evokes the spirit of colonial 1940s Saigon with old photographs of the city, traditional carvings and bamboo partitions; in fine weather the frontage opens out onto the street, and shaded tables offer the prospect of casual al fresco dining.
There are quite a few Gallic influences on the authentic menu, which ranges from rustic noodle soups such as iconic 'pho' to DIY 'steam boats'.
